Monique LHuillier Elle (Fall 2007)
This is a gorgeous authentic Monique L'Huillier gown from her Fall 2007 collection, still in stores, bought from Kleinfeld Bridal in Manhattan. The bodice is made of her signature re-embroidered lace (the lace is Silk White on a pale Latte background, which highlights the lace in a very subtle and elegant way). The skirt is made of layers and layers of the airiest tulle in Silk White. A Latte silk ribbon with unfinished ends highlights the waist, and four Latte silk bows with unfinished ends trim the skirt. There is a row of delicate silk covered buttons down the back. The dress is floaty and light-weight, and very unlike any of the traditional full-skirted gowns I tried on. It would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding!!
The skirt is not bustled. You can wear it with the crinoline for a fuller look, or without for a more streamlined look.
The dress has been professionally cleaned by a bridal preservation company immediately after the wedding in December 2007. It is in great condition except for small marks on the very hem of the *lining* (not the tulle skirt but the underlayer). Also, there are a few small tears near the bottom of the outermost layer of tulle skirt which are not noticeable at all because there are multiple tulle layers underneath. You could probably have a seamstress mend the tears easily. Please email me if you have any questions or want more photos.
Veil description :
First veil is a custom, waist-length two-tiered (one layer can be worn as blusher) veil trimmed with lace that matches the lace on the dress bodice. This is brand new and never worn (as I ended up wearing silk flowers in my hair instead) and cost $900 at Kleinfel
